Southern State Community College has been named a recipient of a Cloud Leadership Award for moving self-hosted technology services to the cloud, as well as embracing additional cloud services to address many strategic needs of the college.

On Dec. 21, Mowrystown FFA member Cole Pharo delivered 93 blankets and 217 towel bears from the FFA’s Day Of Giving to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Southern State Community College’s 11th graduating class in the Respiratory Care program was honored during a Dec. 9 ceremony on the college’s Central Campus in Hillsboro.

On Wednesday, Dec. 13, the Hillsboro FFA chapter visited a nursing home, Heartland, and assisted living facility, Bell Gardens Place, to sing Christmas carols like “Jingle Bells,” “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” to bring christmas cheers.

Every year, the Hillsboro FFA chapter holds their fruit sale. Members of the chapter are asked to sell fruit to help raise money for the chapter in order to cover expenses for the 2017-18 school year.

On Nov. 21, members of the Hillsboro FFA chapter competed in the 2017 Parliamentary Procedure (Parli Pro) Sub-Districts Contest.

Meredith Oglesby of Hillsboro has been selected to receive scholarships from the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University.
