Mowrystown FFA hosts, competes in district Food Science and Technology CDE

On Wednesday, Nov. 15, the Mowrystown FFA Chapter hosted the District 9 Food Science and Technology CDE.
The Food Science and Technology CDE requires students to have an in-depth understanding of food product development and presentation and food safety issues. Participants use their sensory skills to solve problems and make sound decisions.

About 175 FFA members from 16 schools attended this event.
The Mowrystown junior high team, which consists of Aiden Elliot, Tristen Helterbrand, Sky Leston and Bobby Satterfield, placed third in the district. The Mowrystown high school team, which consists of Nate Frazer, Alecia Kennedy, McKenzie Satterfield, Morgan Evans, Jeanette Cox, Nate Whited, Colton Evans and Jacob Arledge, placed ninth in the district.
Congratulations to the Mowrystown teams, and a huge thank-you to everyone who helped with the events and attended.
