Fairfield FFA attends 90th National FFA Convention and Expo

On Wednesday, Oct. 25, 25 members of the Fairfield FFA Chapter traveled to Indianapolis, Ind. for the 90th National FFA Convention and Expo.
The students who attended included: Dale Back, Cody Everhart, Kohler Bartley, Jamie Dailey, Layla Hattan, Trey Wilkinson, Allyce McBee, Conner Shoemaker, Harley Flint, Tanner Collins, Kylie Lamb, Wyatt Fent, Morgan Sheridan, Ally Davis, Holden Ferguson, Teigan Thackston, Rachel Schuler, Bri Burleson, Dylan Zimmerman, Alexis Tompkins, Paige Teeters, Bre Flint, Spencer Crothers, Thomas Fraiser and Gavin Cox.
The chapter made some stops along the way to Indiana such as Ghyslain Chocolatier, Indianapolis Speedway and the World’s Toughest Rodeo.
On Friday, the chapter toured Fair Oaks Farms where they learned about the farm’s dairy and swine. Members got the opportunity to see the farm’s milking merry-go-round that milks 72 cows at a time.
They also got the rare opportunity to watch a calf being born. On Saturday, the Fairfield FFA headed to 8th Convention Session to watch fellow members receive their American Degree. They also stayed to watch the 2017-2018 National Officer Installation.
The Fairfield FFA learned so many new things about leadership, farming techniques, teamwork and made new friendships.
