The Hillsboro Indians boys golf team lost a non-conference match to the host Unioto Shermans at the Chillicothe Jaycees Golf Course on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

The Fairfield Lady Lions traveled to Whiteoak High School in Mowrystown Wednesday to face the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats on Senior Day. 

The No. 13 seeded McClain Lady Tigers saw their season come to an end Thursday night at Zane Trace High School after a 67-27 loss to the No. 4 seeded Unioto Lady Shermans in the Division II sectional finals.

It was a night to honor McClain’s three senior players and seven varsity cheerleaders, but the visiting Unioto Shermans spoiled the festive evening by soundly defeating the Tigers, 65-35, and showing why they are at the top of the Scioto Valley Conferenc and one of the area’s best basketball teams.

The Lynchburg-Clay boys soccer team hosted the Unioto Shermans on Thursday night, falling to the visitors from Ross County by a 3-1 score.

Admittedly, as a teacher and a successful cross-country/track & field coach at Unioto High School in Chillicothe, life has been relatively good to Matt Paxton.

Playing two games on Saturday, the Hillsboro Lady Indians softball team split their weekend games at the Blue Angels Classic, where they defeated Gallia Academy and lost to the Unioto Lady Shermans, both non-conference games.

The Hillsboro Indians opened the 2023 season on Monday with a loss to the Unioto Shermans at home, and on the following night they lost at home to the Circleville Tigers, both non-conference games.

It has been three up and three down for the Hillsboro Lady Indians softball team. They earned their third straight victory to start the season Monday afternoon, winning by a 5-3 score over the Unioto Lady Shermans at Alice Cassner Field.
