    Coming down to the final free throws attempted by the Madison-Plains Golden Eagles, the McClain Tigers gained a bit of revenge Saturday night against the defending South Central Ohio League champions as only one of the final two shots went through the hoop, with the Tigers gaining a 64-63 league win over the Golden Eagles at McClain High School.

  • Several new coaches lead SCOL in 1969
    Several basketball coaching changes had taken place in the SCOL, as the 1969-70 season rolled around. Sam Snyder had replaced Paul Hager, at McClain. John Lawhorn had been named head coach at Circleville, and Dave Larimer had replaced Vernon Hooper at Hillsboro.

         Those are the words heard throughout Ohio during the spring and summer months on the radio, but on Friday the voice and presence of Hall of Famer Marty Brennaman was loud and clear at the WKKJ Clear Channel radio station in downtown Chillicothe as the Cincinnati Reds Caravan made a special media appearance at the station in anticipation of spring training and the 2010 season.
