Hillsboro resident Donald Roads McCoppin will be celebrating his 103rd birthday on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Fall has officially arrived and grain harvest is progressing well ahead of schedule. The dryer weather pattern over the past several weeks has facilitated rapid drydown of area crops and field conditions pose no limitations for harvest equipment.

The Highland Soil & Water Conservation District’s 68th annual meeting will be held on Oct. 14, at the Highland County Training & Employment Center (Hi-TEC) located at 1575 N. High Street in Hillsboro from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Sept. 30, local and guest skateboarders demonstrated their skills at an outdoor show at The Loft, the local youth outreach ministry of Good News Gathering.

Alley 21 Sports Grille will host a Car Show/Cornhole Tournament to benefit Anna's Army and Braylee's Brigade on Oct. 9.

October signals the beginning of our busy holiday season here at the Leesburg Library.

The Make a Blanket Day (MABD) workshop will be Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Sardinia Church of Christ, 7130 Bachman Drive, Sardinia, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
