Southern State Community College’s South Campus near Sardinia is offering a Plein Air exhibition, workshop series and meet-the-artists open house. “Plein Air” – Art aficionados may be familiar with the French phrase; for the rest of us, however, it simply means “in the open air.”
  • 'Dining with diabetes' classes to be offered
    The Ohio State University Extension, Highland County Office and the Highland District Hospital will be offering a 'dining with diabetes class' series, Oct. 6, 13 and 20 from 6-8 p.m. The classes will be held at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene Annex, located at 8230 U.S. Route 50, Hillsboro.

  • Annual Greenfield History Day set for Oct. 1
    October 1 is the day of Greenfield Historical Society's fifth annual History Day. Events this year will center around the Underground Railroad and the Civil War. We have made arrangements with Anthony Gibbs, a professional re-enactor from Canal Winchester, to be present and tell the story of John Parker. Mr. Gibbs will also present Parker's story to the fifth grade students at Buckskin and Rainsboro on Sept. 30.

  • 'Biloxi Blues' auditions Sept. 21 at Southern State
    SSCC Theatre will host open auditions for the upcoming production “Biloxi Blues” from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on Southern State Community College’s Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. “Biloxi Blues” was written by Neil Simon and will be directed by Rainee Angles with performance dates set for Nov. 11-13.
