A West Portsmouth man escaped serious injury Monday morning when his Chevrolet Cobalt overturned on state Route 247 at the base of Folsom hill in Washington Township.

Firefighters from Paint Creek, Stations 1 and 2, and Brush Creek Township responded Thursday evening at approximately 9:30 p.m. to a reported structure fire at 9095 Snake Road in Paint Township. First responders to the scene quickly assessed the fire and reported it was not a structure but some material burning next to a barn.

On March 28 at 9 a.m., the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls of chemical odor in the area of South Main St. in the village of Lynchburg.

On Wednesday, March 27 at approximately 4:05 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call from a customer that reported possible illegal drug activity in the parking lot of Wal-Mart. The caller gave a description of the vehicle and people involved. The Hillsboro Police dispatcher advised officers on patrol.
