Firefighters extinguish Snake Road blaze

Firefighters from Paint Creek, Stations 1 and 2, and Brush Creek Township responded Thursday evening at approximately 9:30 p.m. to a reported structure fire at 9095 Snake Road in Paint Township.

Leesburg and Marshall fire departments were put on standby for mutual aid, if needed.

First responders to the scene quickly assessed the fire and reported it was not a structure but some material burning next to a barn.

According to the property owner, Dee Carpenter, who was on scene, her son had scrapped two mobile homes on the property next to a barn and that scrap pile was burning.

Fire crews quickly doused the flames and Carpenter states there was no property damage or loss.
