The membership of one of higher education's most recognized honor societies, Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), was enhanced by the induction of several new members at a June 15 ceremony on the Central Campus of Southern State Community College.

Southern State Community College has released its president's and dean's list for academic excellence for spring quarter 2012.

Thomas Bohl, a graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at The College of Wooster.

Leesburg resident Kara M. Young is the recipient of an $11,000 Wilmington College Academic Achievement Award.

Southern State Community College's 37th annual commencement exercises were held June 8 in the Patriot Center on SSCC's Central Campus in Hillsboro. A total of 596 students applied for degrees or certificates as part of the largest graduating class in the college's history.

Wilmington College conferred 306 graduating seniors with Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS) and Masters in Education (MED) degrees at its 136th annual commencement ceremony. Graduates, some receiving special honor recognition, were from WC's main campus, Cincinnati Branch in Blue Ash and the degree completion program at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.

The following Highland County residents, listed by community, have been named to the Spring 2012 Dean’s List at Chatfield College.

Chatfield College in St. Martin and Cincinnati held its 41st graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 12. The ceremony was held in the Chapel at DePaul Cristo Rey High School in Cincinnati. It honored 51 students from both the St. Martin and Cincinnati campuses who either completed the requirements for graduation or will complete the requirements during the summer session.
