Southern Hills CTC students named Business Professionals of America regional winners

Southern Hills Career Technical Center Information Technology students, along with students from Amelia, Batavia, and Williamsburg High Schools, and Grant, Laurel Oaks, Live Oaks, and Ohio Valley Career Tech Centers, competed in the Business Professionals of America Region 13 contests at Amelia High School.

Mrs. Ginger Ring, instructor of the Information Technology program at Southern Hills CTC, is pleased to announce the following Regional Winners from her program:

• Alisha Clifford: Database Applications, third place; Advanced Spreadsheet Applications, second place; Parliamentary Procedure, fourth place.

• Emily Calvert: Parliamentary Procedure, fifth place.

• Darin Gardner: Parliamentary Procedure, third place.

• James Jones: Advanced Spreadsheets Applications, first place; Fundamentals of Web Design, sixth place.

• Elijah Butts: Computer Network Technology, fourth place; Parliamentary Procedure, second place.

• Nathan Malicoat: Computer Network Technology, fifth place.

• Rocky Smith: PC Servicing and Troubleshooting, fifth place.

• Daniel Broadwell: PC Servicing and Troubleshooting, sixth place; Information Technology Concepts, fifth place.

• Jackson Eagan: Computer Security, fifth place; Parliamentary Procedure, first place.

• Josh Mullen: Computer Security, first place; PC Servicing and Troubleshooting, second place; Computer Programming Concepts, fifth place; Information Technology Concepts, third place.

• Damien Whitaker: Fundamentals of Web Design, fifth place; Information Technology Concepts, fourth place.

Four of these students are state qualifiers and will attend the BPA State Leadership Conference in Columbus March 12-13: Damien Whitaker, competing in Fundamental Web Design; James Jones, competing in Advanced Spreadsheets; Alisha Clifford, competing in either Advanced Spreadsheets or Databases; Josh Mullen is choosing to compete in PC Servicing and Troubleshooting.
