Leo Young, the son of Scott and Stephani Young of Hillsboro, has been selected to perform with a national organization known as The Sound of America Honor Band and Chorus.
On Saturday, April 21, the Greenfield McClain show choir, "A Touch of Class," will present their annual show, "Spectacular." This year, the group is returning to a Broadway-themed show.
Officials with the Carrollton Exempted Village School District relented after a nationwide outcry yesterday, reversing their decision to prevent Carrollton High School senior Austin Fisher from walking at his class's graduation in May. Fisher, a student athlete with good grades who cared for his mother during her treatments for terminal breast cancer, missed two more days of class than permitted by school policy and had been told he would not be walking because of these absences.

Southern State Community College has released its president's and dean's list for academic excellence for winter quarter 2012. To be eligible for the president's list, a student must maintain a 4.0 grade point average while carrying a minimum of 12 academic credit hours. Those who achieve the dean's list are also full-time students who have earned at least a 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0.
