Hillsboro FFA grows, sells flowers

During the last month of school, the Hillsboro FFA Greenhouse classes had several flower sales, and the greenhouse was open during school hours.

Several Hillsboro FFA members, along with their instructor Mrs. McNeal, maintained the greenhouse facilities and grew several different types of flowers and plants. Hillsboro FFA sold vegetables including tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, peppers and cauliflower.

The chapter sold several different types of flowers, including begonias, marigolds, petunias, zinnias and geraniums. Several different hanging baskets, planters and ferns were also sold.

Money made from the flower sales in the spring, and poinsettia sales in the winter, go toward maintaining the greenhouse to make a better educational environment for the students. Thank you to everyone who has supported the greenhouse class by purchasing different plants.
