The tone of the Southern Hills League matchup between the Fairfield Lady Lions and the Fayetteville Lady Rockets was set with the very first at-bat by the Lady Lions, defeating Fayetteville, 11-4 on Tuesday.

For the third time in three games, the Fairfield Lady Lions were unable to gain a victory. This time, the Lady Lions were unable to score a run against Southern Hills League counterpart Eastern Brown, falling to the Lady Warriors, 1-0 in extra innings Monday at EBHS.

Both the Fairfield Lions and the Eastern Brown Warriors had a strong first inning, but it was Eastern Brown who finished stronger, as they defeated the visiting Lions 6-3, Monday in a non-league game at EBHS.

It was major league type of day for the Fairfield Lions baseball team, as they totaled 41 runs and 32 hits for a weekend doubleheader sweep of the Portsmouth Clay Panthers, Saturday at PCHS.
