Lady Lions lose at home to Wheelersburg

The Fairfield Lady Lions were unable to defend their home court Monday evening, falling in a non-conference game to Wheelersburg, 40-32.

FHS (3-6) trailed 11-7 following the first quarter and from there trailed 19-16 at halftime.

In the second half, WHS led 28-21 after the third frame and then ended the game by outscoring FHS, 12-11.



[[In-content Ad]]Kaitlin Evans was the leading scorer for FHS with 14 points, including two 3-pointers.

Senior Heather Cox finished with 13 points and 18 rebounds for a double-double.

Also contributing to the FHS scoring were Justice Hattan with two points and nine rebounds; Shelby Smithson with three points; and Lydia Sowders had four rebounds.
