The consolation game of the 2012 Wilkin Memorial Scholarship Tournament didn't go the way the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats had hoped, as they lost to the Clermont Northeastern Lady Rockets, 57-34, Saturday afternoon at Lynchburg-Clay High School.

There wasn't a whole lot of scoring, but it was the Whiteoak Wildcats who broke away in the final quarter to defeat the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs, 65-50 Friday night at Lynchburg-Clay High School to move to the finals of the 2012 Wilkin Memorial Scholarship Tournament.

  This past calendar year of Highland County athletics has been an interesting one, to say the least.
