After more than 50 years, Highland County resident Charles P. "Chuck" Emery has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service during the Vietnam War. Emery was honored at the annual military reunion for Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 8th Infantry (mech.), 4th Division in Omaha, Neb. on Sept. 18.
