Hillsboro Lady Indians finish runners-up at FAC Track and Field Championships

The 2026 Frontier Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships took place at Miami Trace High School on Tuesday (May 12) and Thursday (May 14), where the Hillsboro Lady Indians were the top finishing team from Highland County as they were runners-up in the conference. 

At the girls meet, the FAC champions were the Miami Trace Lady Panthers with a score of 197, followed by Hillsboro at 115.5. In third place was Chillicothe with a score of 98, followed by Jackson in fourth place (97), McClain in fifth place (72) and Washington in sixth place (65.5). 

In the boys event, the Chillicothe Cavaliers won the FAC with a score of 153, followed by second-place Miami Trace at 132 points. In third place was Hillsboro with a score of 119, then in fourth it was Jackson (112). The fifth-place team was Washington (78), and the McClain Tigers were sixth place (48). 

FAC champions from Highland County included Hillsboro’s girls 4x200-meter relay team of Meredith Dietrick, Kobie Miles, Alizeh Hudson and Olivia Covault with a time of 1:46.74. Covault was also an FAC champion in the girls 400m dash. Also in the girls events, McClain’s Becca Bergstrom won the pole vault event with a height of 9-6. McClain’s Mylie Lovett won the high jump with a leap of 5-2. 

In the boys events, Hillsboro’s 4x200m relay team of Jayce Newton, Collin Swackhamer, Foster Britton and Kameron Evers won with a time of 1:32.83.
