    The Community Action Committee of Pike County’s (CAC) Workforce & Business Development (W&B) Program’s Transitions Program hosted Rise Above: An Event Celebrating Recovery in Pike County on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Pike County Fairgrounds, bringing together approximately 200 attendees from Pike and surrounding counties in a vibrant celebration of recovery.

  • Suspect in alleged Pike County road rage incident sought
    On Monday, Sept. 16 at 8:19 p.m., Pike County Sheriff Tracy D. Evans reports that his office received a complaint of shots fired in the area of Fairview Road and Lapperell Road. This complaint allegedly stemmed from a road rage issue between drivers.

This event will focus on uniting the community in celebrating the commitment of those who are continuing their sobriety from Substance Use Disorder (SUD).

Evans reports that on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 8:35 a.m., the Pike County Sheriff's Office was contacted by the Ohio Highway Patrol Internet Watchdog Group regarding a threat of safety to one of the local county schools which had allegedly been posted over a social media app.

    Pike County Sheriff Tracy D. Evans, Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman, Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer, Scioto County Prosecutor Shane Tieman, Pike County Prosecutor Michael A. Davis and New Boston Police Chief Carl Compton announced that on June 4, the Southern Ohio Organized and Major Crimes Task Force was contacted by the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) in reference to possible illegal narcotics located while they were serving an arrest warrant.
