On Monday, Sept. 16 at 8:19 p.m., Pike County Sheriff Tracy D. Evans reports that his office received a complaint of shots fired in the area of Fairview Road and Lapperell Road. This complaint allegedly stemmed from a road rage issue between drivers.
The caller reported that the suspected vehicle involved in allegedly shooting a firearm was a 2010 Red Chevy HHR. Pike County Sheriff Deputies immediately patrolled the area with negative contact but located the vehicle on Grassy Fork Road. A vehicle pursuit ensued with the suspected vehicle.
The pursuit ended near the 1000 block of Zion Road, where the driver allegedly fled into the wooded area toward Hackelshin Road. The driver was later identified as Josh Bailey, 43, of Williamsport. A passenger, who was apprehended, was identified as Misty Rinehart, 41, of Bainbridge.
Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Piketon and Waverly Police assisted in the search, along with the Ohio State Highway Patrol Aviation.
Bailey was last seen wearing a black shirt with camouflage pants. Bailey is believed to be armed and dangerous. Please contact the Pike County Sheriff’s Office at (740) 947-2111 if you have any information.
Warrants will be issued for Bailey’s arrest for aggravated menacing, mishandling firearm in a motor vehicle and fleeing and eluding.
