Public comment period open for T.R. 252 bridge replacement
As part of the Ohio Department of Transportation-District 9’s Planning Department, the district’s Environmental Office is seeking public input for a bridge replacement project on T.R. 252 (Newland Hill Road) in Pike County.
• PIK-CR-252-0.02 (PID 119422): It is proposed to replace the bridge on TR 252 (Newland Hill Rd.) at the 0.02 mile mark in Pike County. The project is located in the rural area of Pebble Township.
The project will require approximately 0.144 acres of permanent right-of-way. The permanent right-of-way is located along the forested stream channel.
No homes or businesses will be removed by the project.
The funding for the project is 100-percent federal.
The roadway will be closed for the duration of the project. The local detour will be Newland Hill Road to Newland Ridge Road. to Viar Road to Leeth Creek Road. The detour is approximately five miles.
The environmental commitment date is March 1, 2025. The project is currently expected to be awarded Jan. 1, 2026.

The environmental review, consultation and other actions required by applicable Federal environmental laws for this project are being, or have been, carried-out by ODOT pursuant to 23 U.S.C. 327 and a Memorandum of Understanding dated Dec. 14, 2020, and executed by FHWA and ODOT.
