This year, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs moved over the hump as they won their first sectional title in their current three-peat Southern Hills League championship streak by dominating the Northwest Mohawks 12-1 in five innings, Saturday at LCHS.

The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats are sectional champions. WHS, a No. 7 seed, used strikeout pitching and timely hitting to their advantage on Saturday, as they won in shutout fashion, defeating No. 2 seeded Sciotoville (Portsmouth East) 4-0 at PEHS.

Wanting to keep sharp during down time in-between postseason games, the Whiteoak Wildcats and Fairfield Lions added a third meeting to their slate against each other Friday. For the third time this season it was Whiteoak who were the victors in the non-league game, defeating the Lions 10-8 at WHS.
