Brittney Rhodes placed seventh in the 15-year-old age division. Sydney Hamilton placed fifth and Samuel Hamilton placed second in the 9-year-old age division.

NCB donates $2,500 to Highland County Family YMCA

NCB recently donated $2,500 to the Highland County Family YMCA. The Highland County Family YMCA will be using the money for the Y’s youth programming, including youth sports and summer camp.

Edwards-Dawson family gathers in Leesburg for 89th annual reunion

Under the direction of the reunion committee, consisting of Joyce Kimball, Juanita Miller, Joe Cohmer (who was celebrating his 80th birthday), Jimmy Edwards and Lee Edwards, the family gathered for a good time of fellowship, good food, prizes and an auction raising funds for next year’s reunion.

Of all the items in the display case in the pioneer hallway, the one pictured here peaked the curiosity of one of the women. By virtue of its placement, it was obviously farm related. Many of you will recognize it immediately, but I had to confess I did not know what is was.

HHS class of 1965 holds its 50th reunion

The Hillsboro High School class of 1965 held its 50th reunion on Saturday, July 4 at the Elks Lodge in Hillsboro. One hundred guests were in attendance, including 61 of the 144 classmates who graduated in 1965.

Local children enjoy Back to School Bash at Edgewood Manor

Consulate Health Care’s Edgewood Manor of Greenfield recently hosted a back-to-school bash, where more than 130 local children received free school supplies and prizes.
