The Whiteoak Lady Wildcats came close to gaining their first win of the season on Saturday afternoon but were unable to keep their lead in the fourth quarter, falling to the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans, 30-26 at Whiteoak High School.

Tuesday night was an excellent night of high school basketball for the Hillsboro Indians boys basketball team, as it seemed from my view that it was the best game the team played up to this point of the schedule.

Snowfall ruined what could have been an exciting day of high school basketball in the area, as what I felt the “Game of the Weekend” was going to be, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs at the Eastern Brown Lady Warriors, was postponed until Wednesday, Jan. 23. That said, the game I covered on Friday night was an exciting battle between two Highland County schools.
