Jane Eileen Riley, daughter of Susan and Kirk Riley of Hillsboro, graduated summa cum laude from Wilmington College on Dec. 17, 2009, with a bachelor's degree in social work. On Jan. 8, Jane fulfilled the requirements to become a licensed social worker.

Ohio students continue to outperform the nation on the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) in reading for 2009, demonstrated by results for fourth- and eighth-grade reading.

Tom Payton knows what it’s like to be unemployed. Last November, he lost his job as a human resources manager when his plant closed down and relocated out of country. That experience gives him some added credibility in his new role as coordinator of Career Services at Southern State Community College.
