On Saturday, Dec. 10, McClain FFA took its Jr. Parliamentary Procedure team to compete at the state level. It is the first time in recent years that McClain has done this.

Parliamentary Procedure is arguably one of the hardest CDEs to prepare for and demonstrate. The purpose of the parliamentary procedure leadership development event is to encourage students to learn to effectively participate in a business meeting and to assist in the development of their leadership, research, problem-solving skills and critical-thinking skills.

On Thursday, Nov. 17, 23 of the Hillsboro FFA chapter members traveled to Talawanda High School to compete in District 9 Food Science competition. The team placed third in the district out of 12 teams.

Each year, the Hillsboro FFA Chapter participates in a job interview contest.

On Wednesday, Nov. 16, the Hillsboro FFA Chapter held their annual Greenhand Night in order to celebrate the induction of new members into their chapter.

On Oct. 6, the Hillsboro FFA chapter started their annual fruit sale fundraiser.

On Sunday, Dec. 11, 14 Hillsboro FFA members met at Walmart to shop for 24 children.

Early in 2022, the Bright Local School District purchased a parcel of land near Whiteoak High School for future development into a sports complex. The agronomy class at Whiteoak developed a plan and budget for the potential use of the land for the 2022 growing season and presented it to the school board, then the board and superintendent Michael Bick approved the plan and the FFA members began putting it into action.

On Sunday, Dec. 4, McClain FFA took 26 students shopping for kids in the community. There were an overflowing amount of students who wanted to participate in the community service activity.

On Nov. 9, four local school districts participated in a mental wellness day dedicated to area seniors.
