  • AAA7 awarded funding to provide vaccination outreach

    The Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7) was recently awarded funding from the Administration for Community Living through U.S. Aging’s Aging and Disability Vaccination Collaborative that will allow the AAA7 to provide outreach and education on the importance of vaccines and partner on vaccination opportunities for older adults and individuals living with a disability in the community.
  • Free community suicide awareness, prevention training offered June 6
    The Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7) is offering a community training for suicide awareness and prevention called QPR: Question, Persuade, and Refer. The training is free and will be offered virtually on June 6 and is open to any member in the community.
  • May is Older Americans Month
    Established in 1963, Older Americans Month (OAM) is celebrated every May and is a time for us to acknowledge the contributions and achievements of older Americans. Currently, the majority of our older Americans consist of the Silent Generation and Baby Boomers.

    The Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7) will be hosting an in-person Advisory Council meeting Thursday, May 25 and is inviting interested community members to attend and participate.

  • ‘Dementia Conversations’ virtual education for community, family caregivers set for May 9
    The Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7), Holzer Health System Inpatient Psychiatric Unit and the Alzheimer’s Association are joining together to offer the community a virtual way to learn more about dementia as a way to provide support to family members who may be seeking to understand more about the condition and how best to help their loved one. “Dementia Conversations” will be held May 9 from 10-11 a.m.
