Current and Potential Ohio Medicaid members are invited to an Ohio Medicaid MyCare Ohio Community Input Session on Tuesday, April 30, to be held locally in Jackson County.

The MyCare Ohio program integrates both Medicaid and Medicare benefits into one program, coordinated by a managed care plan.

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is reviewing today’s MyCare Ohio program to identify possible changes to better address the needs of the individuals served. To support this, ODM is expanding the MyCare Ohio program statewide to allow more Ohioans to benefit from the program’s integrated care and support in navigating Medicaid and Medicare benefits. During this process of expanding coverage, ODM will also transition the program to have greater focus on the individual, by expanding benefits to help address unique individual healthcare needs.

ODM will conduct a series of in-person meetings throughout the state with Ohioans who are dually eligible and their caregivers to provide education on the current MyCare Ohio program and hear about experiences navigating healthcare systems and providers. Feedback collected will inform efforts to prepare individuals for the forthcoming changes to the program. Family members and caregivers are also encouraged to attend.

Although formal childcare will not be available, the community is welcome to attend with family. Light refreshments and a $15 gift card to a local grocery store or gas station will be available for attendance.

The session April 30 will be held at the Administrative Office of the Area Agency on Aging District 7, located at 1 Acy Avenue in Jackson. ODM will be facilitating the session starting at 1 p.m.

Individuals may be eligible for MyCare Ohio if they are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid services, age 18 or older, and reside in one of the 29 counties where MyCare Ohio is currently available.

ODM is hosting separate sessions for providers, provider organizations, and provider advocacy organizations to hear more about their experiences and thoughts on how to improve care. Please refer to the MyCare Ohio webpage on Medicaid,ohio.gov for more information on the provider sessions.
