The Fairfield Lady Lions hosted the Fayetteville Lady Rockets at Fairfield High School on Tuesday, where the sixth inning proved to be too much for the host Fairfield team, allowing five runs in the inning and eventually suffering a 6-2 Southern Hills Athletic Conference loss. 

The Southern Hills Athletic Conference selected two Girls Basketball Coaches of the Year for the 2023-24 season in Peebles head coach Sidney Pell and Fayetteville head coach Tory Rummel.

The Southern Hills Athletic Conference honored the 2023-24 All-SHAC Girls Bowling Team during the winter sports banquet.

The 2023-24 All-Southern Hills Athletic Conference Boys Bowling Team was honored at the SHAC winter sports banquet.

The Fayetteville eighth grade boys basketball team won the Southern Hills Athletic Conference tournament and also earned a SHAC title.

The Fayetteville Lady Rockets were Southern Hills Athletic Conference seventh grade tournament runners-up.

The Fayetteville Lady Rockets were girls basketball champions of Division II of the Southern Hills Athletic Conference, finishing the season with a 12-1 SHAC record.

Thursday night saw the Fairfield Lady Lions play with one of their best efforts against the reigning Southern Hills Athletic Conference Division II champions. 

The Fairfield Lions boys basketball team has lost their past two games in a span of five days, as they fell on Friday (Feb. 2) to the Fayetteville Rockets, and on Tuesday (Feb. 6) against the Miami Trace Panthers, as both games took place at Grandle Gymnasium in Leesburg. 

In a game where the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats had a chance to clinch a share of first place in Division II of the Southern Hills Athletic Conference, they suffered a heartbreaking loss on Thursday, Feb. 1 to the visiting Fayetteville Lady Rockets, 48-45.

Some games just take a little longer than others, and Monday night for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs it took four extra minutes of in-game action to get past the tough Fayetteville Lady Rockets in their showdown, winning by a 55-52 score. 

On Friday night (Jan. 26), the Whiteoak Wildcats went on the road to battle with the host Fayetteville Rockets, but it was the hosts who were the winners as they defeated the Wildcats, 66-53. 

In one of their closer games this season, the Fairfield Lions kept their winning ways going by defeating the Fayetteville Rockets, 58-53 on Friday (Dec. 22) at Fayetteville High School. 

Fairfield had two single-digit scoring quarters which ultimately led to their Southern Hills Athletic Conference loss Monday night (Dec. 18) to the host Fayetteville Lady Rockets, 56-41.
