The second annual Greenfield Music Festival was a success, with crowds enjoying numerous concerts as well as a variety of activities during a mild and pleasant weekend June 7-9.

A talented golfer from southeastern Ohio who hailed from McClain High School in Highland County, Erika Martin led McClain to a OHSAA Division II Southeast District Sectional Championship in 2018 and two top three finishes at the OHSAA Division II District Tournament level in back-to-back seasons to close her high school career.

As graduating seniors of McClain High School do every year, on the morning of graduation they return to their elementaries within the district for the parade of seniors. And those returning to Rainsboro also got to unearth a time capsule buried their fifth-grade year in the courtyard of the elementary school.

The McClain Tigers have a new head coach at the varsity level for boys basketball, and it is a familiar face … that being Jarrod Haines, who coached the girls program for a decade and is currently the assistant principal at McClain High School.
