    The next few months for the McClain boys soccer program will be filled with a variety of emotions with the passing of former coach Shawn Jackson, but the man chosen to lead the Tiger program is a familiar face, a friend of Jackson and one who has been a part of the ups and downs with the Tigers for nearly a decade. Jon Chamblin (McClain '87), who has been an assistant boys soccer coach the previous eight seasons, is now the leader of the three-time South Central Ohio League champion Tigers.

    Matt Wells will take the helm as the new head coach of women’s basketball at Southern State Community College. Wells is a veteran on the court, with coaching credentials at Mt. Orab Junior High, Western Brown High School, Williamsburg High School, Amelia High School and, most recently, as the varsity coach of East Clinton High School.

    Highland County Thunder took on the Cinti Patriots at Lynchburg-Clay High School and walked away with a 6-5 win on a hot 99-degree day.
  • Indians post 10-0 mark in new league

    On their first possession, the Indians put on an impressive 93-yard touchdown drive. McClain did not allow another touchdown in the game, but Sean Longstreth hit a 33-yard field goal in the second quarter. McClain scored just before the halftime intermission on a deflected pass, followed by an Andy Bolender to Paul Bond pass play as time ran out.
