With summer winding down and only one meeting left before the 2018 Highland County Fair, members of Fur, Feather, and Friends 4-H club have been busy.

As part of the 25th anniversary of the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Ohio Proud Marketing Program, Weights and Measures representatives weighed the world’s largest piece of buckeye candy at the Ohio State Fair. The buckeye officially tipped the scales at 339 pounds, defeating the previous record of 271 pounds.

The Lynchburg Lions Club held its regular monthly dinner meeting July 30 at the Lions Club Building. Following the meal, Lions President Bob Roth welcomed special guests of the club, who presented a program.

Santa won’t be coming to town for five more months, but the magic of Christmas is already in the air, as the annual butter sculpture display was unveiled by the American Dairy Association Mideast Tuesday. The butter cow is in the holiday spirit, and so is the display.
