The annual Mick reunion was held Aug. 21 at Seip Mound outside of Bainbridge.

Greenfield resident Adam Garman is one of 19 farmers and agribusiness professionals selected by the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) to participate in the 2011-2012 AgriPOWER program. Garman works with his family as the third generation in their agribusiness, Garman Feed and Supply, Inc., is a Ross County Farm Bureau member and part of his family’s grain and cattle farm.

The Hillsboro Garden Club held its monthly meeting on July 25 at Floral Hall. A delicious “Pot Luck Picnic” was held prior to the meeting. Members and guests enjoyed a variety of tasty salads, casseroles, and desserts. This yearly event is a group favorite and no one goes home hungry.

WILMINGTON – Three physicians with Oncology Hematology Care, Inc. (OHC) of Cincinnati are now seeing patients at CMH’s Foster J. Boyd, MD, Regional Cancer Center. They are Dr. Nancy Simon and Dr. Marcia Bowling, gynecologic oncologists; and Dr. Priya Rudolph, a hematologist/oncologist.

Jeff and Arielle Kline, both Greenfield students, won Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Lamb, respectively, at this year’s fair. They are the children of Chris and Shalaina Kline.

The date for the Tobacco Field Day will be Aug. 24, and we will visit two locations.
    Last year, we visited more locations and seemed to be on the road more than we were in the field so I hope we can see as much or more than we did last year in less time.

Due to reconstruction, the center will be closed Sept. 5-13.

The Petland store in Hillsboro is helping area families spay & neuter their pets. The store has partnered with the UCAN Spay & Neuter Clinic, a mobile veterinary unit offering discount vaccines, medications, and other services. Every fourth Wednesday and Thursday of the month, Petland Hillsboro acts as a drop-off and pick-up location for pets receiving care from the clinic.

The Highland County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours, a networking program for the Highland County business community, will be on Thursday, Aug. 18 from 5-7 p.m. at S&K Dairy Cup, 5562 U.S. 50 west, three miles outside Hillsboro. Sponsors for the event are S&K Dairy Cup and Higgins.
