More than 30,000 beef industry enthusiasts gathered in Columbus on March 16-18 for the 2012 Ohio Beef Expo. In its 25th year, the Expo is hosted by the Ohio Cattlemen's Association (OCA) and held at the Ohio Expo Center. The Expo provides an annual opportunity for those in the beef industry in Ohio, and across the nation, to learn and enhance their businesses and operations through exhibition and sales.

These days it seems as if the price of everything is going up. When fuel prices skyrocketed to over $2 a gallon, we all felt the impact. Now, gas prices are over $3 a gallon on average, and we seem to be numb. We just have to submit to the prices because we cannot do anything about it. So, now that we have adapted to high gas prices, utility rates are going through the roof.

Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland Highland Hills Service Unit presented a bag filled with goodies to the first baby girl born on March 12 at Highland District Hospital.

The Laurels of Hillsboro recently hosted community bingo with area nursing homes. The residents won many monumental donations from the generous businesses as listed above. This event was hosted in February, and previously in October.

Dr. Hoyt W. Allen, Jr. will be the featured guest speaker at the Hollowtown Church of Christ's Spring Revival, set for April 1-4.
