On Monday, Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) announced that his bipartisan legislation authored along with Jon Tester (D-Mont.) to allow federal agencies to streamline the hiring process by cutting duplicative services and saving taxpayer money was signed into law by the president on Friday. The bill is also sponsored by Senators Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) and Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.)

Senator Rob Portman (R-Ohio) praised a federal water grant Monday that the Agriculture Department is awarding to Sebring, Ohio, to help ensure its water supply system is safe.

Findings for recovery in the total amount of $39,047 were issued against 81 current and former school district employees. Ten of those employees repaid a total of $2,531 during the course of the audit, and one has a repayment plan in place, leaving $36,221 still outstanding and owed to the district.

Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted announced 9,401 new entities filed to do business in Ohio during February 2016. This is 1,483 more businesses than filed during February 2015 when 7,918 entities were formed.
