Sherrod Brown (D-OH) urged federal regulators to crack down on so-called “zombie debts” that are no longer owed by consumers, but linger on their credit reports or can be sold by banks to debt collectors – who then harass consumers and attempt to illegally collect settled debt.

Following a robust roundtable discussion with local leaders from Jewish community organizations, Congressman Brad Wenstrup is reiterating his adamant opposition to the recently negotiated Iran Nuclear Agreement. A hearing has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8 for Bradley George, chief of the Paint Creek Joint EMS and Fire District. The hearing will be held at the Greenfield station at 640 N. Washington St.
The third annual Walk Against Animal Cruelty fundraiser hosted by the Fayette Humane Society is quickly approaching. The event will take place at the shelter house in Washington Park, located on Eyman Drive in Washington Court House, Saturday, Sept. 12.
On Wednesday, Sept. 9, between the goat and hog sale at the Highland County Fair, Highland County FFA chapters will be auctioning an International pedal tractor signed by Greg “Machinery Pete” Peterson.
