The Hillsboro Indians have been building for the 2024-25 season for the past couple seasons, and this year they have an opportunity for more success as they are about to take the court for the regular season.
The Laurels of Hillsboro, located on state Route 50 in Hillsboro, celebrated their 25th anniversary with a ribbon cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce, along with family, friends and members of the community, on Thursday, Nov. 14.

This past Friday night saw the start of the 2024-25 girls high school basketball season for the Hillsboro Lady Indians and the McClain Lady Tigers. Both teams played away from their home courts, with MHS winning at Paint Valley and HHS falling to Western Brown.
The start of the 2024-25 season for the Hillsboro Lady Indians began with a solid first half where they led by three points against the Western Brown Lady Broncos after the first quarter and trailed by just three points at halftime. The fourth quarter didn’t go as well, where the game got away from the Lady Indians, eventually falling to WBHS, 64-55.
In a tremendous display of community support, the annual Highland District Hospital Foundation Gala unfolded Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Hillsboro Orpheum, leaving attendees inspired and the Foundation enriched with vital funds to support its important initiatives.
