White House releases Obama's 'long-form' birth certificate
The White House released President Barack Obama's "long-form" birth certificate Wednesday, which was followed by remarks to the press from the president. 
Obama said that he was releasing the birth certificate to put an end to questions regarding his citizenship, saying that he and the country have better things to do, and that "We’re not going to be able to solve our problems if we get distracted by sideshows and carnival barkers."

Weather warning system explained
The severe weather warning sirens are tested the first Wednesday of every month between noon and 2 p.m. unless there is threatening weather. If there is threatening weather on test day, the sirens will not be tested, so if you hear sirens, it will be an actual warning.
Ballentine resigns as homeless shelter director; moving to Arizona UPDATED
The Director of the Highland County Homeless Shelter Mike Ballentine has resigned from his post at the organization.
 
 Ballentine told The Highland County Press that he submitted his resignation to the board on Sunday, and he has been told that the shelter's board has met and voted to accept it. Ballentine said his resignation is effective immediately, but it is his understanding that he is to receive a written notice of the board.

Recount not enough to keep Greenfield's city status
As of March 30, 2011, the city of Greenfield received notification that the official 2010 Federal Census results indicated that the municipality now had a population fewer than 5,000 people. Accordingly, the city has received a proclamation of village status with a population of 4,639 residents.
