Highland County golfers competed at sectionals during the week of Sept. 23, with one team and two individuals advancing to the district tournament.

The 2024 Highland County Invitational saw Whiteoak senior Landen Eyre win his fourth consecutive Highland County title, while in the girls race it was Fairfield senior Aylah Humphreys leading the way for the first-place finish.

Monday night saw the Fairfield Lady Lions have a rare feat of sorts, as they defeated the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs in three sets, winning each set by the exact same score.

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs and the Hillsboro Indians renewed their Highland County rivalry game on Tuesday night at Lynchburg-Clay High School, where it was the Mustangs gaining the upper hand with a 1-0 win over their county foe.
