The following are recaps from recent Highland County soccer and volleyball games.

Thursday, Sept. 28 saw the Fairfield Lady Lions go on the road and defeat a Highland County counterpart, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs, in three consecutive sets.

The Lynchburg-Clay boys soccer team hosted the Unioto Shermans on Thursday night, falling to the visitors from Ross County by a 3-1 score.

The McClain, Lynchburg-Clay, Fairfield and Whiteoak boys golf teams competed in Southeast District sectional boys golf tournaments Sept. 26-27, with the LC Mustangs advancing to the district round.

The 2023 girls golf Southeast District Div. II West Sectional was played at Buckeye Hills on Monday, Sept. 25.

The Southern Hills Athletic Conference awarded All-SHAC honors at the end of the 2023 SHAC girls golf tournament.

The Southern Hills Athletic Conference honored the 2023 All-SHAC Boys Golf Team at the conclusion of the SHAC boys golf tournament.

The Southern Hills Athletic Conference concluded its two-day girls golf tournament with Manchester winning the event with a team score of 385.

The 2023 SHAC boys golf tournament was held for four days, with the final team total champions being the North Adams Green Devils with a total score of 664.

Not getting underway until after 7:30 p.m., the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs played under the lights — and some rain — in their Southern Hills Athletic Conference game with the North Adams Green Devils Monday night.

There is a battle for first place in Highland County for the top spot in the standings of the girls soccer Southern Hills Athletic Conference, and Monday night it was Lynchburg-Clay doing what was needed to be done to defeat the North Adams Lady Green Devils.
