For the past three years, the Hillsboro FFA Chapter has hosted a countywide hoedown to raise money for anyone or an organization that was in need, and this year the chapter decided on the Wounded Warrior Program. 

Greenfield Elementary fifth-graders’ art will go up for auction on the school’s Facebook page this week with proceeds to benefit Shriners Children’s.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation is asking a Northwest Ohio school district to stop letting a religious release time program operate on school property.

As an artist, Mary Beth Thorngren finds inspiration in the realm of dreams and the subconscious. Her work often features dream imagery in which she transforms fleeting thoughts and emotions into tangible creations. Thorngren specializes in utilizing found objects, “breathing new life” into materials that might otherwise be overlooked.

On Feb. 14, four Hillsboro FFA Students attended the Ag Communications CDE Contest at The Ohio State University in Columbus. 

On Thursday, Feb. 19, four members of the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter traveled to the district competition for ag sales. 

On Feb. 19, eight of our FFA members competed in the District Public Speaking contest at Miami Trace High School. 

On Feb. 10, five Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA members took the Farm and Agribusiness management CDE online test. 

Several of our members took the Grain Merchandising CDE online exam. Our top four members were Kenny Shawhan, Claire Winkle, Brayden Cummings and Lily Fugate. 

The Bright Local Board of Education will hold its next regular meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 18 at Bright Elementary School.
