    In March, Shawnee State University will be celebrating Women’s History Month with several featured speakers and activities.

    Tickets are now on sale for Wendy’s Rock ‘n’ Roll House Party XII, featuring Huey Lewis and the News. This year’s event is part of Shawnee State University’s 25th Anniversary Celebration and is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 at SSU’s Vern Riffe Center for the Arts.

    Dr. John Lorentz, professor emeritus and assistant provost for International Program Development at Shawnee State University, has been traveling throughout the world developing international programs, recruiting students and initiating relationships with universities in many countries.

    Erin Elizabeth Mizer of Greenfield has been named to the Miami University dean's list. Erin is a freshman at Miami University.
  • Bagshaw, Rhoads honored by OSBA
    Hillsboro City Schools Board of Education members Laura Bagshaw and Beverly Rhoads have been honored with awards by the Ohio School Board Association.
     Bagshaw is president of the HCS board of education, and Rhoads is a member, as well as a member of the Great Oaks ITCD school board.

    Hillsboro High School wants to step up their efforts in recognizing students and staff during the second semester. Kelsi Spicer, a freshmen at HHS, will spearhead this project. Kelsi was eager to begin her first assignment of interviewing and writing about two of our senior students, Ben Rhodes and Matt Newby. Kelsi stated, “this is a great opportunity to get to know fellow students.”

  • Students decorate for Catholic Schools Week
    St. Mary School had a door decorating contest as part of Catholic Schools Week. Mrs. Wagoner's 1/2 day class was chosen as the winner. The St. Mary's Angels wrote why their Catholic School was important to them. They will be treated to popcorn and a movie.

    Chatfield College has announced the appointment of Ashley Anderson as the Social Media and Special Events Coordinator and Nathan Schuler as the IT Manager at the Cincinnati and St. Martin locations.

    Ryan Kenneth Newman of Hillsboro has been named to the Miami University dean's list.

    The fourth-grade Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs went undefeated throughout the season and won their tournament.
