At the Bright Local Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, March 15, Chuck Wait and Mariah Wait of Chuck Wait Tire were recognized for their strong support for the Whiteoak athletic programs.
Dr. Rick S. Kurtz will be inaugurated as the sixth president of Shawnee State University in a formal ceremony at 2 p.m. Friday, April 15, in the Eloise Covert Smith Theater at the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts. The installation ceremony is one of several events planned on campus as part of Inauguration Week, April 11-15.

On Thursday, U.S. Senators Rob Portman (R-OH), Tim Kaine (D-VA), Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) introduced the CTE Excellence and Equity Act to support re-designing the high school experience by making courses more relevant to students’ future careers.
