McClain General Livestock Team finishes first at state judging contest

The McClain FFA Livestock Judging teams surpassed all others competing in Spring CDE Contests. 

The Livestock Judging team first competed at the Miami Trace Invitational, where they placed first out of 80 teams with a total of 462 participants. 

On Saturday, April 2, the McClain FFA traveled to the State Judging contest at the Ohio State Fairgrounds. The team placed first in the state out of 170 teams. Mat Barton was the highest scorer on the team, placing 10th overall. Madison Schumacher placed 14th, Ethan Cockerill was 33rd, Allison Beatty was 34th, Emily Jones placed 47th, Garrett Brewer was 76th, Brock Dean was 150th, Eric Anderson placed 169th, Kelli Urhig placed 201st and Zane Mustard was 298th. 

The General Livestock Judging Team was awarded for their achievements at the McClain School Board Meeting on March 22.
The Livestock Judging moves on to the finals for the State Competition on April 30 at The Ohio State University.
