The path for Grace Shope to become the Fairfield High School all-time basketball leading scorer didn’t begin four years ago when she was a freshman starting high school. The thought of being the all-time leading scorer — whether it be male or female — for the basketball program began when she was in junior high.

History was made on two occasions Monday night, as the Fairfield Lady Lions clinched no less than a share of their first conference basketball championship and senior Grace Shope became the all-time basketball leading scorer in school history.
