Game Preview: This type of game is good enough to be played in a district round, but for this season it will be a sectional final game that could change the course of how this part of the Southeast bracket will go.

Both teams enter the game with at least 17 wins, and both dominated the competition in their first game at Valley High School Wednesday as part of the sectional semifinals.

For Wheelersburg, players to watch from their lineup are freshman Kaylee Darnell, junior Abbie Kallner, senior Leann Spradlin and sophomore Bella Williams.

In their sectional semifinal game, Kallner totaled 15 points. Also in that win, Williams had eight points, Darnell totaled 12 points and Spradlin had eight points.

Now for the Lady Lions, they scored in double figures in each of their four quarters played against Portsmouth in the semifinals with Grace Shope scoring 24 points. Samara Cannon followed with 13 points and Brianna Barnes totaled 10 points, giving FHS three players in double figures.

For the Lady Lions, what will be key for them is to keep Wheelersburg from getting the fast start. FHS head coach Chad Hamilton said this of Wheelersburg following the sectional semifinals:

“Wheelersburg is very good. They are fast and have great defense, and they’re good at every position,” Hamilton said. “They are a team we’ll have to prepare a lot for and put four good quarters together to give ourselves a chance to beat them.”

Tip-off for the Division III SE District Sectional Final game will e at 2:45 p.m at Valley High School.
