With one inning complete the Fairfield Lions and Wilmington Hurricane were even at two. But a seven-run second inning by the Hurricane washed away any hope of a FHS non-league win, as WHS defeated the Lions 11-5.

The Fairfield Lady Lions continued to struggle in the non-league portion of their schedule Tuesday, dropping a 5-2 decision to the Miami Trace Lady Panthers.

After miscues in the field allowed the Fayetteville Rockets to take the lead in the top of the seventh inning, the Fairfield Lions scored one run to tie the game and won the game off a base hit by Bobby Wilson to gain a 12-11 Southern Hills League win Thursday.

The Fairfield Lady Lions pounded out 12 hits, four for extra bases, in a 14-1 rout of the Manchester Lady Greyhounds in a Southern Hills League game played Wednesday at Fairfield High School.

Kept to four hits on the day, the Fairfield Lions were unable to gain any momentum on the bases as they fell to the Manchester Greyhounds 4-0 in Southern Hills League play.

The Eastern Brown Warriors invaded Leesburg on Friday and easily defeated the Fairfield Lions 16-4.

The Fairfield Lady Lions hosted the Eastern Brown Lady Warriors Friday at Fairfield High School, in Leesburg.  The game featured two of the top teams in the Southern Hills League as Fairfield fell to the hot hitting Eastern Lady Warriors 7-3.

The Fairfield Lady Lions traveled to Peebles High School Thursday with first place in the Southern Hills League Division II on the line. The Peebles Lady Indians broke a 1-1 tie, with an unearned run, in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 2-1 win.

A seven run inning, added with two other runs, allowed the Fairfield Lions to fend off Peebles' last chance effort in their final at-bat, to take home a 9-8 win Thursday at Peebles High School.

The longtime rivalry took nine innings along with a bases loaded hit by pitch to settle this round, with the Wildcats leaving Leesburg victors over the Lions, 3-2.

The Fairfield Lady Lions cut down on miscues and provided backup for the pitching Tuesday night at Fairfield High School. After losing to the McClain Lady Tigers the previous night, it was the Lady Lions who did what was needed for a 7-0 win against Highland County and Southern Hills League rival Whiteoak.
