The Hillsboro Indians were unable to seal the outright South Central Ohio League title Friday night, falling to the Washington Blue Lions 8-3 at Shaffer Park to wrap up the regular season slate of games.

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs chipped away each inning and  finished off the Green Devils with a three-run home run for a 13-0 run-rule win over North Adams Friday at LCHS.

In their pursuit of a perfect Southern Hills League record the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs put their mark on the league with a 19-5 win over the Ripley Blue Jays earlier this week at RHS.

The Fairfield Lions controlled the middle innings Wednesday at North Adams High School, scoring three runs in the third and five in the fourth, along with one final run in the sixth, for a 9-5 win over the Green Devils.

The Hillsboro and McClain baseball rivalry continues to amaze me each and every time they step between the white lines.

Fighting back from a five-run deficit after four innings, the Mustangs put up eight runs in the fifth inning, en route to an 11-8 win over the Eastern Brown Warriors, clinching the outright league crown, its first league crown since 2006.

It was shutout baseball in Mowrystown Wednesday evening. Gaining five hits and four runs, the Whiteoak Wildcats moved closer to a .500 mark on the season, defeating the Blanchester Wildcats 4-0.
