This group of Hillsboro girls basketball seniors not only want to have an improved season, but want to be a part of the rebuilding of the Lady Indian program that has seen struggles the past few seasons.

New leaders, defending a league title and a new coach. Those are just some of the storylines that the 2011-12 Hillsboro Indians are staring at as the season inches closer.

Tyrand Cumberland and Chase Gilliland have been playing the game of basketball since they were in elementary school, playing on the same teams, and last season as juniors they were a part of the first South Central Ohio League boys basketball championship in nearly 20 years at Hillsboro.

This season, the four Fairfield seniors will not only be playing for themselves and their overall success, but will be playing with a heavy heart as they will be playing for the memory of one of their own in Stephen "Peanut" Barcus, as he passed away this past summer.
