The Highland County Retired Teachers Association met Monday, Aug. 1 at noon in the Hillsboro Church of Christ Fellowship Hall at 155 W. Walnut St. in Hillsboro.

The Lynchburg Lions Club held its monthly dinner meeting Aug. 8 at the Lions Club Building in Lynchburg. The special guest was Lion John Hibbs, who currently serves District OH-6 as district governor.

On Tuesday afternoon, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and first lady Fran DeWine welcomed Dolly Parton to Ohio to celebrate the statewide success of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Ohio, where every child under the age of 5 is eligible to receive a free book each month.
